THERE HAS BEEN A DECLINE OF 42% IN THE
NUMBER OF ARTS GCSES SINCE 2010

Alarm bells are deafening at the decline in UK arts education with significant correction required to unpick the damage done.

Theatre has no money
and little time left

KIER STARMER’S NEW GOVERNMENT IS NOT

POISED TO PROVIDE NEW MONEY FOR THE ARTS

Mention of additional funding for arts and culture was absent from Labour’s manifesto, an omission actors’ union Equity called "short-sighted" after its recent research uncovered a 16% overall decline in public body funding since 2017.

If you have a little spare time volunteer it with us.

Whether your skills are on stage back stage  or off stage...

or if you'd simply like to help out in any capacity, donate what time you have and -

BECOME AN ACTORVIST

Donate your talent, expertise and insight and let's make some theatre for new audiences to fall in love with.

AS ACTORVISTS

We can help win a reprieve for the artform we love, see it enrich many more lives, and rebuild and industry where a few more of us can make a living again.

Whether you you feel you could best collaborate with us right now, tomorrow, or in 12 months time,  tell us about it ASAP via the form below WITH NO OBLIGATION, we'll be in touch.

Meanwhile, we'll keep trying to raise the public funding, commercial sponsorship and private donations necessary to pay a company of our size and ambition a living wage in the future.

For now...

We rehearse, build and market
our productions over

Followed by performing, filming
and live- streaming over

In the meantime we're currently operating a part-time, rehearsal and performance structure, over two months, principally in the evenings and at weekends, to allow theatre professionals, especially those who've had to take up conventional jobs, to participate whilst maintaining alternative sources of income.   We’ve euphemistically nicknamed this pattern of working A Month of Sundays borrowing an olde English phrase for a series of miraculous events! For workshop presentations Rehearsals will usually  take place, Tuesdays to Sundays over 9 consecutive evening and weekend sessions followed by up to 5 public presentations between Friday and Sunday night,   We’ve calling this pattern of working A Nine Day Wonder borrowing another olde English phrase for a series of miraculous events!!

What level of Actorvism would suit you?

Well... yes. I see what you mean. I love theatre. Yes, I suppose I could be a tiny bit Actorvisty...

We're planning a supporters page.

Write us a few sentences we can publish about what theatre has meant for you and why it's worth fighting for .

I've a public profile with a strong social media following. I'd like to be an ambassador for all this.

Please consider being one of our patrons

I want to sign up but I'll need to feel sure this is a credible, operation, that's on a strong footing legally, financially and constitutionally.  People's free time is valuable so what's being asked of everyone needs to be fair, transparent and no one must be exploited.

Please consider becoming a trustee. You're exactly who we're looking for at this time.

Let's do this!! Oh, no wait I'm so busy, I want to help but realistically, I'm afraid...

Our Month of Sundays scheme is for you.

we'll be holding regular Sunday get-togethers for actorvists to help out in any way they can, be it flyering, helping to make or source stuff , front of house or just simply contributing practical ideas or inspiration for a few hours. If you can commit to donating just four Sundays a year, on dates to suit. you it  would make a big difference. â€‹

I've just finished a professional theatre training but there's virtually no opportunities out there for me.

Collaborate with us in your free time and lets build a brighter future for UK theatre and your role within it.

For this company to have relevance it needs to be a place for progressive ideas and practices.  It can't just be a cut-price version of the past.

Please collaborate with us.

I can't make a living in theatre anymore. I'd love to help win over an audience for the future but I've a new job.

Most of our productions are currently scheduled for actorvists like you to find a creative outlet and fight for the art form you love.

Our shows  tend to be created over a 4 intensive long weekends and performed over a second  month from Friday to Sunday.

No Phil, I get what you're saying but you're going about this all wrong.

I can't wait to hear from you.

I've got quite a bit of spare time on my hands and I've been looking for a creative project I can believe in that will enhance my CV. I'd be interested in joining a core team committing to this part time on a regular basis.

Please tell us all about your availability and interests.
